The Return to Troy!

The first pic is the sum total of the project, including my giant WIP walls. I really hope this project will be my main focus in the coming year, although the impending arrival of Fistful of Kung-Fu might have something to say about that!
Happy New Year!

Well, now this time it actually works! Follow my blog, if you so desire. Thank you to my beautiful bride for figuring out the damn designer!
Photos for Troy tonight! And buy my stuff via LAF:

“Let me not then die ingloriously and without a struggle, but let me first do some great thing that shall be told among men hereafter.”
Homer, The Iliad

Back to Troy! The whole Oldhammer thing, LOTR, Mcdeath... I keep trying, and them lose interest, again and again.
But have you seen this:

The Trojan War makes me happy, and I actually paint stuff, and I have all the minis and rules I need, and beautiful custom made terrain. What the hell am I doing messing around w/ all this wargames-butterfly stuff? The goal is to stay focused and publish results til the beginning of the year.

Watch this space...

Hey Einstein!

I finally figured out how to let folks follow the blog!

So, in an effort to actually attract followers, I've added these pics of hot chicks wot Wargames nerds might like...

The road goes ever on and on...

I had these, then sold them, now buying again. The story of my miniatures collection:

This time, I'm holding on for dear life! LOTR mania continues...

Interested in all things old-school Lord of the Rings these days. If you don't like the Rankin-Bass version of The Hobbit, you might not like the direction I'm going in...

The Norse Invaders

Just a few Norsemen, perhaps as the invading army that gets Mcdeath his acclaim?

The cast assembles...

The cast for my Mcdeath project has started to gather. I had one, and just painted him a few days ago. Meet Raybees:
And next, my long lead-lusted-after witch, finally generously sold to me by the gracious Aggro84 out of a particularly fine old lead haul he won. Not officially part of the scenario, but she will be cursing the field of play, and leading a small force in a skirmish scenario I'm dreaming up:

And these three fine gents just joined the crew, still wearing paint (and fairly nice paint too!) from their previous eBay owner; Knight of Harkness, Dokko McCoughlagan, and Banquo:
A nice Donaldbane should be heading to me even now. Not too many $$ spent so far, but these are the easy ones... Now if only I can convince the folks I sold my last attempt at Mcdeath to sell me back my stuff...

A Drum, a Drum...

So that is the long and the short of it: I'm back to doing Mcdeath. I have wanted to game this scenario for years and years, I've collected (and sold off) many, many of the lesser minis, and I've even started collecting and painting new-skool versions of the set:

But they have never gone anywhere except to ebay or trades. Now I aim to correct that! I'm going to game Glen Woe, the intro scenario from White Dwarf using minis from my collection, and buildings I've scavenged from Lichemaster and other sets, and build my collection of old Citadel minis, starting with the one I have from Mcdeath proper, Raybees! (Pics to follow when I finish basing the little bastard!)

Hopefully someone will read this, and help me keep on track!

Just a test pic, so I went with a naked lady with a knife. Sweet!

Well, here I go...

My first post, on my new blog! I have no idea what I'm doing, so expect a few bumps along the ride. I'm going to use this mostly to keep track of whatever miniature wargaming madness I'm currently infected with, so expect painting plans, terrain ideas, and maybe even a few pics every now and then!

I hope!
